CompoLChurchesSMALLThere are still 40 churches in the City of London that have survived, some from before the Great Fire and others from the Blitz and they are all different! We shall explore some of them on this tour ranging from the very early period to the early eighteenth century. BUT as the churches are often tucked into streets surrounded by what we would call skyscrapers, we shall look at some of these as well.

We meet in Trinity Square gardens (near Tower Underground Station) at 10.30am on Thursday 17th September and finish near St Paul's Cathedral around 3.30pm (not forgetting, of course, a congenial lunch in between; cost not included).

Our guide: Anne-Marie Craven as an art historian spent many years doing picture research and running a fine art picture library specialising in art, history and archaeology with some militaria. On retirement she trained as a Blue Badge Guide and leads walking tours, concentrating on London and the outskirts. See her website http://londonwalk.uk

Price £20 to be donated to the churches on this visit. Please email us your name/s and those of any guests to: events@czechfriends.net
